Connecting minds

Many of my posts are about the family and the kids, but today was a great day for me. Not so much as a Mom, but as an individual. A female individual to be more specific.

Today I got to share soup and wine with a wonderful group of about 15 women. We gathered at one lady’s spacious and welcoming home to make giant tissue flowers. There were teachers and artists, recent graduates and Grandmothers, math geeks and financial gurus. What ties them all together? AAUW, the American Association of University Women, includes women of all backgrounds as long as they have graduated from a University. Today as we labored over giant sheets of tissue paper and attempted to complete 300 flowers for an upcoming convention, I learned about job openings, good (and bad) physicians, summer camps, and even look forward to a wonderful recipe coming later via e-mail. I can’t wait until we meet again next weekend (to finish the 300 flowers).
